What Realtors Do During the Holidays!

I cant remember the last day I had off. I have been selling real estate for 22+ years and I havent had a day off in at least 10 years. As crazy as that sounds, it is true! What is even crazier is that this is the life I chose! Even crazier yet is that I am grateful for this life I chose. I wouldnt have it any other way actually. When I started in real estate (back when I used to walk to school barefoot in the snow backwards with a blindfold on), we didnt even have cell phones!!! We also didnt have the internet in the same way we have it today. If you wanted to work, you had to go to the office. Clients could only reach you at home or on a landline. Social media wasnt around so nobody really ever knew what anyone else was doing. So, now fast forward to 2018 and you see that Realtors are able to work pretty much anywhere! Yes, we will stop in the middle of eating and answer a call or a text, yes, we will go on vacation and check our messages regularly, but it's ok, we realize this is part of the job and it just becomes part of our life! It is kind of like brushing your teeth! It may not be the favorite part of your day but you dont mind because the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. So, as I made Thanksgiving dinner with my girls, and checked my phone every few minutes, I realized that I am so completely thankful for a career that has me standing in the kitchen with the loves of my life while being able to work on Thanksgiving!
